We are Cathy and Jake, the mother-son duo who bring Orca Boxes, LLC to Ormond Beach, FL. We would love to share our story with you so that you can learn about us!
Orca Boxes is a female-owned business in Ormond Beach, FL and we service the Volusia and Flagler County areas. Orca Boxes was built on a dream that young adults like Jake (with intellectual disabilities) can have a place to work, learn and grow, all while making a difference in our small part of the world. We have been in operation since 2025 and are so happy to be a part of your community!

How Orca Boxes was Created
After years of searching for a business opportunity that would allow my son to focus on his strengths and abilities, I stumbled across the concept of Moving Box Rentals. From someone who has moved frequently in my adult life, the idea of helping others make their next move less stressful, less time consuming and with less waste for the environment, I was intrigued. After extensive research and no local company offering this service in our area, we decided this was a business my son (and others like him) could work, learn and make a positive impact on our community. He was excited to begin, starting with picking the name…his favorite marine mammal.
Part of this Community
Jake and I moved to Ormond Beach in November 2019 after falling in love with the area during a summer vacation visit from Orlando. Our love of the beach and marine life, the downtown charm and my work as a physical therapist is what brought us here. Our neighbors, the many extraordinary community friends we have made from running ordinary errands around town and the extra-special teachers and friends at Seabreeze High School have kept us here. Ormond Beach is as active or as peaceful as we wish to make it and we love and appreciate the heart of this community.

We make moving simple, sustainable and stress-free. Our sturdy, reusable boxes are delivered right to your door-no tape, no assembly, no waste. Plus, every rental helps create jobs for young adults with intellectual disabilities, so you can feel good knowing your move makes a difference.
Plans for the Future
At Orca Boxes, we strive to make a difference in our community, one move at a time. Every Moving Box Rental booked is a better moving experience for you, better for the environment and helps to build an inclusive community where differences are valued and respected. Our ORCA-sized dream is to have multiple locations throughout Florida, owned by other special needs families, where their loved ones can have meaningful work experiences and connect with their communities.
